Building a self-assembled lightsaber using open-source parts such as a Proffie v2.2, SHTOCK NPXL connector system (blade-hilt), and 3.7V Li-ion battery for power.
One of the most valuable aspects of the project was learning how to balance rapid iteration with reliability under competition constraints. Across multiple redesign cycles, I helped evaluate mechanical tradeoffs, improve subsystem robustness, and streamline maintenance between matches. The experience strengthened my understanding of collaborative engineering, systems integration, and designing mechanisms that perform consistently in high-pressure environments.
